Babies: 3 - 6 Months

When are you a hyprocrite?

For instance, I HATE fake flower headbands on babies.  But, y'all all know I love me some big bows!

Thus making me a hypocrite since they are essentially the same thing.  Something about a bow just seems classier to me.

So, when are you a hypocrite?

  • I am a hypocrite when it comes to fast food. I always judge people who eat it, but I will hit up some chik-fil-a like there's no tomorrow. I will also eat Steak and shake on occasion.

uuummm...Steak and Shake.  I worked there when I was in high school, ya know.... Delicious.

I am a hypocrite when it comes to my MIL and SIL.  I talk about them behind their backs...but to their faces, I am nicey-nice.  DH won't let me be brutally honest.  Blech.

  • I am always a hippo-crite.  Ba dum ching.

I don't know, really.  I am pretty judgey but I know I do things that others would judge me for (and even some things I judge myself for).

  • I judge people based of what is in their grocery cart (aka cart full of soda, cheetos, little debbie's etc.).

Yesterday I felt like a hypocrite when I bought a few boxes of oatmeal cookie pies...my DH is going through a major sweet craving lately and it is cheaper than him running to the corner store every night.

  • I guess I am a hyprocrite of baby making.  I always said that I would never have 2 under 2 for multiple reasons i.e. money, responsibilities, selfishness, etc.

Then tonight I actually got teary eyed when I got AF because I do want to get pregnant again.  BIG HYPROCRITE!

DH and I were just talking about how fat we both are and that we need to work out...as we were on our way to Steak 'N Shake for dinner. Yes, we got shakes for dessert on top of double bacon cheeseburgers.

I'm the same way except I swore we were one and done.  Then I met my sweet girl and HAVE to have more.

I would even do IF treatments again which I totally swore would never, ever, ever happen.

I'm pretty judgmental of most other people who get married young or have babies young, but I got married when I was 20 and had a baby at 22.

Oooh, I am stealing part of this one - I was 22 when I got married yet I still judge people who get married younger than, say, 26.

I do this with my cousin and his wife. But I just can't bring myself to say the things I want to when they are around.

I also tend to judge people who smoke. It's just a major turnoff for me.

I can't believe I feel this way.  I remember being pregnant and stating that I would never go through prenancy with a infant/toddler.  Yet here I am getting all emotional because I got a period, it really is weird.

I have a love/hate relationship with AF lately.  I want to wait for Brady's results so I love the fact I got AF but I really do want to be pregnant again, and sooner rather than later.

I wish you and Alex the best of luck with your baby making!

  • I judge moms who judge other moms.  That alone is hypocritical, but I'll also admit to a little judging myself, especially when it comes to potentially dangerous things I see moms do, even though I've been guilty of some of the same stuff.  Case in point:  I think moms who put the car seat on the seat part of a shopping cart are just waiting for an accident, but when I buy pet food/litter, I put DS on the seat part when he's sleeping (otherwise I wear him) because the food takes all the room in the cart and it takes only 2 minutes to run in and out so I don't want to get him all unbuckled if he's sleeping.

You realize the car seat snaps onto the cart so that the release has to be pushed to move the seat? At least, mine does.

I've never found one it actually snaps into so I have to release it, and at most places I've tried it it just hangs on the back portion and doesn't even touch the handle area so it really doesn't feel all that safe, if that makes sense. It's also not just a "it might fall off" thing.  It causes an imbalance on the cart and makes it top heavy so the cart could flip.  It's not really all that common, but it's one of my fears, so my irrationality tells me it should be everyone's fear.  Plus, the AAP recommends against it, regardless of the type of carrier. Here's a link.

  • I used to judge my bestfriend when she bought a one bedroom apartment for her, her DH & their newborn. I was all "why would you do that, now your baby is always going to depend on you being there in the morning when you wake up, and when you finally get a 2br, its going to be a really hard to get him to sleep alone". When i bought my apartment, i could only afford a one BR. So i gave that BR to B, and parked my bed in the living room, making my apartment look like a college dorm.

Yeah, that lasted maybe a month. Moved all my stuff in B's room. I also co-sleep some nights. In turn, being a hypocrite about that tough transitioning to the crib, because I cant fall asleep without B. Not the other way around ..

PS: Bestfriend hasnt been over since the move-back-into-B's-room, and i still pretend like im doing great out in the living room and B is doing even better sleeping by himself in his room.

    Zip it!
