On the flip side, I am a therapist and people bring in their children who are misbehaving and want me to help them (read fix their kid without them having to do anything.) And when I make suggestions about things they could do differently, I have been told that "No one tells me how to raise my child." And because what you have been doing worked so well that you are in here talking to me now.
Sorry to highjack your post but it is my own pet peave and I have been really peaved lately.

This, absolutely!! Or these same people trying to give lame parenting advice!! I get stopped a lot when I have all my dk's out....people take this as an automatic ticket to hand out advice!! Sorry (not) to the old lady that thinks that S should be totally covered up, she might get sick...even though she's sweating buckets.
Or to the Wal-creature that is trying to give me parenting advice....or random strangers giving me advice on birth control. I could go on! I've learned how to respond and not be so nice and meek about it anymore....the snark in me has a public voice.
The best was being cornered by a total stranger in Walmart that had to keep going on about how many kids I had and oh, what a handful and tons of other passive aggresive BS...I had enough and put on my innocent face and said "Oh, well, what else is there to do around here besides fcuk and drink?? Besides, we have to keep up with the Duggars..." DH walked out of the washroom at that point and caught what I said and smiled...I say people have to be prepared if they tread into territory that's none of their business!! I was the nice girl that used to take it, but not any more!!
