Due date has come and gone...still waiting!

My expected due date was 2/15....Now it is 2/17 and I am still working :)  My co-workers stop in to my office and state the most common statement of this week "you're still here?!"  I am scheduled to be induced on 2/23, Monday being a holiday, I decided if my LO is not here by Friday, I am starting my leave on Tuesday.  That gives me some last minute running around to do if need be :)

I work with young parents, so maybe when I come back to work and I hear that they quit their job, or can't participate becasue they are pregnant, I can remind them that I was still working till and past my due date!  This may give me some leverage on that aspect of things :)

Anywho...Can't wait to meet our LO....either Sebastian or Krystopher.  We will settle on the first name after he is born.  Though I must admit, I am partial to Sebastian!

  • We?re naming our little guy Sebastian. You won?t believe the flack we?ve received from some of our family members. We love it though!

Nonetheless, you?re not alone!! I?m three days overdue and am exhausted. I went to my weekly OB appt yesterday and she said that I?m still a dimple, two weeks and counting, with no change. We discussed induction, so it looks like I?m going to be scheduled some time in my 42nd week. Waiting to get a call today. I really do hope he comes before that.

I also need to make some decisions with respect to maternity leave. I was all for waiting to ?D? day. However, I?m exhausted and may try to start working from home next week or taking half days. I think I?ll be better able to decide what I?m going to do once I receive an induction date.
  • Hang in there momma!  Good for you for working past your due date.  I did the same, but then by the end of the week the "You're STILL here" comments were getting to be outrageously annoying so I started my maternity leave early (still pregnant, induce tomorrow night).  I like Sebastian.  I know a guy with that name, a lot of people call him Sebby though.
