That's awesome that the baby is head down and ready to go!
Don't put too much stock in the weight estimate- the sonograms can be a pound off either way. W/ DD my OB was off by around a half lb a week before she was born, he had said 7.5 lbs and she was 8 lbs 2 oz.

Yes, thats what the tech said...she estimated 6.4 but she said it could be between 5.4 and 7...she doubts its at 7 yet though.
These last few weeks, in my experience, both flew by and dragged on endlessly! I never thought the internals were that bad, honestly - and I was always dying to know what kind of progress I'd made, so I was always excited to hear the latest info after getting checked. As for the weight, daisy is right - they can be really off, or dead on - there's just now way of really knowing. DS had been measuring ahead at every u/s (head 2-3 weeks ahead, femur 2 weeks ahead, belly 1 week ahead), so they were guessing he'd be big... he was born at 39 weeks at 8 lbs, 10 oz and 21.25", so he was a decent size (and yes, he had a HUGE head - 15"!). For us, the u/s were accurate... but I've heard completely the opposite being true for others.
You'll be holding your LO before you know it, though. Hang in there - you're almost done!
That's crazy they can tell your LO has a full head of hair.
Like Daisy said, don't put too much stock in what they estimate for size. Two of the OB's at my practice were betting DS would be around 10 lbs, but he was 7 lbs 12oz's, waaaay off. The internals weren't that bad at the doctors office, a little uncomfortable and a bit of pressure. They were worse once I was actually in labor.
Internals were never bad for me...and honestly I was always excited to see if any progress had been made.
I had an OB appt a few hours before my contractions started and he guessed that she would be 7 1/2 lbs. and she was exactly! But I have heard they can easily be off by at least a pound either way!
