Babies: 3 - 6 Months

Anyone else liken feeding your child to target practice?

I swear feeding this kid his solids is equivalent to target practice; with a moving target.

I'm trying to shove a spoonful of bananas into an open mouth, attached to a rapidly moving head...

I swear if I went to the gun range right now (if I knew where one was, other than the one in Vegas), I'd be an ace shot...

  • Haha, thats definitely not Lucas. Kid has his eyes on the prize! As soon as I sit down with his bowl of food his mouth is open.

  • We are a mix.  Half the time she knows exactly what it is and wants it now and there other half the time its target practice and this mommy is not a good shot.

  • That's why Baby Led Weaning is great. LO feeds herself with her spoon and at 6 months has become pretty darned good at it. No target practice necessary for this mama! She has great aim and of COURSE keeps her head still for herself.

Just look at it as your LO trying to keep your mind "sharp" in trying to guess where they will be moving next! LOL

  • LOL, IKWYM! DD is constantly moving. I think cereal is boring to her. I have resorted to shaking her toy by my head when I want her to look at me because she is all over the place. Plus she eats her bib!

I think it will become LESS frustrating when she's eating things that taste good. I've tried rice cereal, and the oatmeal. Blech
