DH is back in school

He's still an undergrad, but taking his upper division courses.  He asked me to read through one of his assigned readings for his Biological Ethics course.  I'll admit, I started sweating about 3 paragraphs in.  The prose was so sophisticated I had to re-read quite a bit of it to really take it in.

I laughed at DH, "You know how hard this is to read?  I'm reading 'See Spot Run' and 'Elmo Knows Opposites' all day."  He just laughed sympathetically.

I need a good, CHALLENGING read.  Anyone have any suggestions?

  • Have you read Pillars Of The Earth? It's a good one.

  • Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand. It is long, but so is Pillars of the Earth (also really good).  Altas Shrugged is being made into a movie coming out April 15th.  You could also start reading the classics if you really want a challenge. I reccomend the works found inside Great Books of the Western World collected by Encyclopedia Britannica. You can easily find all the worlds contained in the series at the library.
