My Doc gave me samples, but the ones she gave me I liked but they are soooo expensive...I have a very high deductible insurance. Anyway, she said generic are fine.....any thoughts????
They are probably fine, just look at the label and see how much of the important vitamins are in there. I bought a bottle off the shelf at Walmart and it has all the recommended levels of the vitamins that are super important.
I use publix generic. I asked our pharmacist and she said each vitamin has to have the same basic vitamins and amount in them by law (or fda whatever) to be produced..So really theyre all the same she said the more expensive kinds you get you're just paying for the advertising and the name.
My doctor said to just look at the ingredients -- brand doesn't matter as long as you are getting enough folic acid and other vitamins. She said that she used the Costco brand ones throughout her pregnancy.
Personally, the regular prenatals make me nauseous so I've been taking the VitaFusion prenatal gummies.

For my first baby pre-natals made me so sick! I kept trying different ones, but I had a terrible time taking them. My doc told me she didn't care what I took as long as it was a multi vit, and suggested that I take Flinstone's Chewables as long as I took an addtional Folic Acid too. So that's what I did. This time around, I was already taking a chewable adult vit (by nature's bounty). So I am going to continue to take that with my 250 mg Folic Acid pill everyday.
So go for generic. They are made with the same ingredients as the "compared to" vit, but they will save you so much $

My dr said the same thing, it's about what's in them, not who makes them.
Generic vitamins are safe and fine. I took generics throughout my pregnancy. My daughter was and still is extremely healthy. The moment I started taking them, I noticed that my nails were thicker and my hair was stronger. They most definitely work.
Check the labels. The generic brand that I have are exactly the same, with exact dosage and ingredients, to the more expensive name brand (which are double the price.)
