When TTC #2 are you planning according to a timeline?

Technically I'd like to start TTC around June so C would be over 2.5 but hopefully before she turns 3. This is our ideal timeline. Thing is, thinking of being pg. and having a newborn in 10 kinds of overwhelming to me.

So, my question for you is, are you having #2 according to timing or desire? Do you ever get "baby fever" again like you do the first time around?

For us it was timing in terms of when we were going to try (I'm a teacher so I wanted a spring baby...worked this time but didn't last time). It was desire that made us try a year earlier than we initially planned.

I would say it was a matter of desire that made us HAVE #2... we weren't exactly TTC at the time. My only stipulations in the timing of LOs is that I'd like to have 3 by the time I'm 30. I'm 26 and now have 2, so I'm quite happy right now to wait a few years before getting PG with #3. This is more to have a chance for my body to really heal and recover from 2 pregnancies so close together than anything to do with sibling timing. I'm glad we have 2 girls close together, and I'm really hoping we have a boy next.

We're planning on TTC #2 according to desire & our general life planning. We were in a better place careerwise & financially when we conceived Bean. We need to make sure we can afford #2 & that we WANT to have a #2 when we do.

I plan on going off the pill in June and from there taking our time and seeing what happens. With my luck I'll have a BFP in July though.

I think we're going to start to TTC around October. I'm in a wedding on New Year's eve so I have to fit in a dress. I'm glad for that because my heart is ready now but my head isn't so this keeps us from having #2 before we're totally ready.

We were going to (and still may) wait until this summer to TTC #2 (see ticker), but we're toying with the idea of starting early. Honestly, the biggest reason we were going to wait is because we didn't want #2's birthday too close to either DD's or Christmas. But in the grand scheme of things, meh. No biggie.

Anytime between September and April of next year... I've been looking for a new job (unfortunately in a specialized industry so the job search can be long), but if it looks like it isn't going to happen anytime soon, we'll go for it earlier. If I get a job, I want to be there at least 6 months before we start TTC.

We did. We didn't want our kids any closer than 2 years apart. When this baby is born they will just a bit over 2 years apart.

It's a little of both for us. Our master plan was to have #2 after DD turned 3. But DH and I have both got baby fever so we're TTC now. We also didn't want our LO's birthdays to be close, and we were trying to plan around the holidays, but at this point it doesn't matter at all. We just want to have another baby! It's been 3 cycles already and still no luck, with DD it took us 4 cycles, so maybe 4 is our lucky number!

I'm a teacher so we generally prefer to plan on a spring baby. That would mean TTC in the summer. However, we got a little baby fever and decided to start early. If it doesn't work this month we might skip a few to avoid birthdays close to holidays and the boy's birthday, but we might not. Either way I decided that I don't mind taking off during the school year and going back after my leave. If we get pregnant now I can at least back my leave up to christmas break.

We were planning to start TTC in late May/June but then we got knocked in the face HARD with baby fever and we decided to move it up until the next time I ovulate. But... last night we got a call that his parents wanted to take us on a trip in April and Italy is one of the choices. I was pregnant when we went to Napa so I DON'T want to be pregnant again in a prime wine spot!

Yes!

We want to try in July. This would put me going on maternity in April which is when my vacation starts over and I will upgraded to 3 weeks vacation. I get 8 weeks paid and then three weeks paid vacation so I won't have to take much unpaid time.

Also, we have a beach vacation planned in June and an early July Lake vacation. I don't want to be pregnant while on those vacations b/c I was really sick when Pregnant with LO. I want to enjoy these vacations LO will be so much fun this year. Finally my OB is against me being out on a boat on a busy Lake while pregnant. He thinks the waves and me bouncing around is dangerous. We always get a boat while at the Lake so I can't be preg!

This is EXACTLY what I was going to write. We really were thinking spring would be the best time for a baby but I have super bad baby fever and want my kids close in age. That being said, looking back, I didn't mind having my DD in December and if I got pregnant this month (fingers crossed) it would give us a November baby. With all of the holidays it would be perfect. Also, last summer DD was 6 months and it was such a nice age to stay home with her. Her personality was showing and she was able to interact. I can't wait to do it again!

Our timeline is to have a spring or summer baby. My bday is Feb and always hated snow around my birthday = no fun outdoor parties. DS's bday is June so we can have a picnics or swim parties. Plus having a newborn and DS in the house all winter with the colds and germs isn't something i would want. Well see what happens.

I wanted my first 2 to be 2 years apart. So far not happening, although we are TTC. If it happens this month they will be 25 months apart:) I want 3 kids total and might start tryingt a little sooner for the third one, but still think 2 years is perfect age gap for me.

We are timing #2 according to finances, not so much DD's age. I am not happy being a FT WM and I really don't think I could handle it with 2 LOs. We won't TTC #2 until either the economy gets better and DH's commissions go back up or he finds another job. I would love to TTC in late spring/early summer so that DD and LO #2 would be 3 yrs apart but I don't think that it will happen.

Timing definitely plays a HUGE part for us. We know we want two kids and we know we should have the second one fairly soon, because we aren't exactly young parents (I'm 35). We also would like our second baby to be born in late Fall / Winter, because my husband is gone a lot for work in the Spring / Summer. So, we started trying last month. I do find the thought of a newborn and a toddler to be a little overwhelming, but I know other people do it and I'm sure we can too. I definitely don't have baby fever in the same way as I did the first time. It's more of a general desire to be a family of four.

We are planning to start this April. We want our kids to be 2 to 3 years apart. If I get pg right away DS will be almost 2 an half. I am getting so excited that we will be trying soon. If I get pg right away the next will be winter baby. I kind of like the idea of having a winter baby. DS was born in the fall and it was kind of nice. I didn't really want to go out much after I had him anyways and the colder weather makes me want to stay in anyway.

We want them close together, and I liked the idea of having the summer with just DS and then this baby will be born in September which isn't right in cold/flu season yet, warm enough to get out for walks, but also not the middle of the summer when we spend a lot of time at the cottage.

We definitely looked at the timing a lot while TTC, and we were lucky to get pregnant on our first month so we got what we were hoping for. If we go for #3, I will aim to have that baby in the Spring (April/May). I had a hard time having my DS in early February and being cooped up.
