Babies: 3 - 6 Months

Does this sound like 4 mo. wakeful?

My DS is 16 weeks old. Lately he has been fighting every single nap. We used to be able to rock or bounce him to sleep for naps. Now he just crys and screams when we do that. The only way to get him to sleep now is by nursing him. When he is asleep, his naps are no longer than 30 minutes. At night, we was waking up once or twice to nurse...now it's 3, 4, or 5 times! Does this sound like the 4 month wakeful period? If it's 4 mo. wakeful, fine, I will deal with it. I just worry that something might be wrong and don't want to overlook anything.

TIA!

  • I don't have an answer for you, but this is the first I've heard of "4 month wakefulness." Now I'll be dreading that for the next 4 weeks!

  • Yes, we are going through the same thing except my DS is 18 mos. I think it's just the wakeful period. Just go with it and feed more. Mine is not napping as much during the day and if  they are their like 15 -20 increments. I always resort to the nursing if she just looks so tired and ready and even though it's not long  she sure seems rejuvenated after that. She is waking up every couple of hours too during the night and it's just throwing us all off.
