Are they necessary?  I have a glider and told DH I needed one based on books, reviews, and the fact that I am so short my feet dangle in the chair.  Please help.

Re: Nursing Stool- Please help...

  • I don't have one.  When DD was first born I laid on the couch & propped a pillow up behind me so I was sitting to BF.  Once I healed & she was still really little & sat indian style with the boppy or BF pillow to BF.  Once she was bigger I just sit normally with the boppy of BF or I put my feet up on the ottoman.

    DD1 born 5/24/10.

  • Yes, since you are short, you should get a stool. It will help lift up your legs to form a lap and be much more comfortable when BF (you can put your boppy or a pillow in your lap to help also).  Otherwise you may hunch over to baby and have back pain.  It helps to bring I have one from either buy buy baby or BRU and it was about $25.  You can just use a regular stool too. I'm tall and I found it helpful.
  • I didn't have one for my DD but I use one with my DS and it does make a difference.  Definitely worth the investment.
  • I am on the taller side but I find it uncomfortable to nurse with out my beloved Boppy.  I think it should do the trick for you too.
