We checked out Wee Wednesdays at Global Market for the first time today and had a lot of fun! Sara Waters from Babytime Fun was there this week. I guess she is often at Red Balloon Book Store, and will also be at the upcoming Rock the Cradle event. She was fantastic!
The Global Market was super fun. I wasn't sure how it would be for small kids, but we really enjoyed it. The merchants sell such colorful stuff, that my girls were so interested in everything. I didn't have lunch there today, but there are so many good places to eat. Also there's a nice play area that's located in a bright, sunny corner, with big windows to look outside. It looked clean and well kept, with lots of toys and books to play with. It was a little too busy in there for my new crawlers, but I look forward to bringing them there to play when they get a bit older. It's pretty well sectioned off with a little arch that leads to a place with a bunch of tables and chairs.

I'm not sure if the setup will be the same for all of the events, but today there was an open space for kids to sit in front, or on your lap in one of the chairs they had lined up. There was enough space off to the side for strollers, and I was able to find a spot to spread out a blanket for the three of us without feeling too in the way.
Sara Waters' Babytime Fun program (new to 2) was really great, and she's booked to be there once a month. It can sometimes be hard to find activities geared toward infants, so I was super excited about this. But at the same time, there were plenty of toddlers in the 2-4 age group that really enjoyed it too. It's a 30 minute program, that's pretty fast paced to keep their attention. I have to say, both of my girls were fully engaged for the full 30 minutes! She reads a couple of short infant books, plays some instruments, sings songs, and uses puppets. It really was a jam packed 30 minutes! You can check her out at www.babytimefun.com
Overall, I'd go again, especially for Babytime Fun. The only downside was the parking, but I'm not sure how the weather today factored into that. The ramp was huge and you can get 3 hours free validated with a purchase from anywhere in the Global Market. The ramp was completely full today, but there wasn't any sign telling you that, so I wasted over 10 minutes looking for a spot and was charged $0.75 to leave the ramp. There was plenty of spots available in the lot with meters though. The meters max out at 2 hours for $1.50 ($0.25 for 20 minutes). Next time I won't even bother with the ramp.
Re: Review: Wee Wed @ Global Market and Babytime Fun
Fun! Is that usually pretty packed? I've heard Saturdays are super busy. How easy do you think a Tuesday would be with a double stroller, and finding a place to sit on the floor with 2 infants? lol

I haven't been to a Saturday story hour, but I've gone on Tuesdays. During the summer it is really crowded and we went to our first winter one this last week and it was also pretty crowded. Most people who bring strollers actually keep them parked outside because there is just no room! I try to get there pretty early (about a half hour before) so that I can get a good spot and DD can see what's going on and we can actually sit.
