I am registered at Target and BRU.. the problem I'm having (with both!) is that everything I register for online is not available at stores. And things I see in the store won't show up online. It's very frustrating.
Does anyone have any suggestions about how to register so that ppl can shop in store AND/OR online for your registry items? It might just be stupid to register for anything that you have to buy online, as I see most people I know just going into the store. But the things I want aren't IN the store. ![]()
Re: Registry Online vs In Store
Register online, then go to the store and register there too.
If anything, you can get a 15% completion for whatever people cannot get online/in store.
We started our registry at BRU before deciding to switch to Target. We made the switch for 2 reasons.
1. Everything at Target is cheaper than BRU.
2. Everyone has a local Target, while the closest BRU is 45 mins away from where my Shower will be held.
With my Target registry, I started it online. Target will have a button that says "find it at a Target store". I really only registered for those items, there are a few that have to be bought online though like our extra bedding and an excersaucer (which have been purchased by family that is OOT). Its hard to see the smaller things like blankets, socks, bibs, etc online... so those I went to the store to register for. I haven't had any problems with the items I registered for in the store, not showing up online. I did with BRU though.

I'm having the problem with those smaller items, like you said Chelsea... all my "big" items (like $50 or more) I have already purchased, so I'm trying to register for clothes, sheets, blankets, and that stuff. Target does seem to be a little better, but yeah, BRU in store stuff is not showing up when I look online. :P
The registry is kind of stressful because there is stuff that I know I will need either way. I guess that is where the 15% comes in handy... but that's just BRU right? And then there is stuff I like but if someone doesn't get it from the registry I will probably buy anyway... and I see things go on sale, and I think well why don't I just buy it now while it's on sale, because I don't want to have to buy it later if we don't get it. I'm reluctant to rely on other people to get the things I need, so my rationale is just buy it myself when it's a deal.
I added a little note to my registry listing stuff we still needed in a "generic" way, like 3-6 clothes, diapers, etc.... that way I *hope* people that shop the list have more choices!
That is what I did. Most of what I wanted was on Amazon, but I was afraid people might want to go to an actual store. So I added Target, went to the store, and added that way. Besides, it was fun scanning things
