High-Risk Pregnancy

Looks like I am joining the bed rest mama's

I do not post a lot but do lurk a good deal. I have actually been on for several years and was a pretty active member for a while.

Anywho, I was diagnosed with pregnancy induced hypertension at 7wks.  (I had the same diagnosis with my daughter at 8wks as well). Put on 100mg of lebatalol 2x per day at the time.  Started u/s every 4wks at 16wks and an NST every other week at 26wks. Down to weekly appointments at 30wks.

I had my u/s, NST, and appointment on Friday. My BP was sky high - within delivery range AFTER laying on my left side for 20 minutes.  192/108.  I was immediately admitted to the hospital for 24hr BP monitoring, 24hr urine catch, and steroid shots for the babies lungs.

Luckily, my BP went back down and has been holding steady right at 130/80. Urine catch and blood work came back within range. No contractions although my lower uterus has been pretty crampy as well as tons of pressure - mainly because he is so low.

I was finally released from the hospital last night at 10pm and am on strict bed rest until my appointment on Friday at least.

  • Helix,

Sounds like quite a ride! It's great that your blood pressure's holding steady.

Well, it's unfortunate that you'll be doing bed-rest much less being high-risk like the all of us here. However, welcome.

Feel free to join us on the daily bed-rest check-ins!
