Cloth Diapering

?s about fitteds and wool

From what I understand, fitted cloth diapers require a cover. I can either use PUL or lanolized wool.

I am assuming that a fitted could be worn without a cover for a short period of time, like when you are at home. Otherwise a cover is a good idea.

If fitteds need a cover, why do so many people make so many adorable fitted diapers? Don't you want to see the cute fluffy adorableness? It seems a shame to cover it up. So do you sometimes use fitteds without a cover just because they are so cute?

This brings me to my next question. When using wool, do you generally use this exactly like a PUL cover or more like an article of clothing or both? I have some very basic wool but I cannot fathom it fitting under a onsie. Obviously wool over the onsie would create major wicking problems. Am I completely thinking about wool incorrectly?

Thanks!

     Yep, you're right.

Because they're cute, I try not to cover them up. They are so absorbent and fit so well, which is actually why I love them. The cute prints just make them even better.

I use wool like pants or pj bottoms, paired with a shirt. I also have a wool soaker and a wool wrap, but I don't put those under clothes. I do, however, put them under pjs at night sometimes.

DD wears a lot of longies, and they double as pants. I don't use them with onesies. She's to the point where a shirt and longies are perfect.

  • I use them coverless at home or with wool pants if it's chilly.  At night I use nighttime fitteds with a wool soaker over top & jammies over that.

I love fitteds with wool b/c since they are natural fibers they are breathable which helps prevent rashes.  Also, they are highly absorbent & I get a great fit on my girl.
