I am ashamed to admit that my DS takes all of his naps (3ish per day) in the vibrating bouncer. When he was first born he preferred it to everything, even sleeping on us. It was easy for us too! Fast-forward 7 months and it is STILL the only thing he naps in.
He goes to daycare full time and they used to put him in the crib but he was only taking 10-30 minute naps and cried everytime. I told them to just switch to the bouncer like we do at home and he naps for 1-2 hrs, sometimes more.
It's not the vibration that he needs because half the time the batteries are dead at daycare. It's the bouncing. We bounce him to sleep and if he starts to stir and wake up early we bounce him a little and he goes right back out.
He STTN 12ish hours in his crib, so it's not that he hates the crib. I tried rocking him and putting him in the crib for a couple naps but he SCREAMS! Not cries, Im talking blood curdling scream. Sometimes right away, sometimes after rolling around and playing for a little bit.
I've thought about possibly ferbering for naps, but he's had so many ear issues (going for a tube eval tomorrow =[ ) I have always talked myself out of it So now that his ear issues are going to (hopefully!) be resolved, there will be no excuse.
Now I need your opinions, what is the best way to go about napping in the crib? Should I darken the windows and do our bedtime routine or will that confuse him?

DS didn't like the crib at all until we sleep trained him at 7.5 months. Once we started the nighttime training, we also did naps. I usually pull down the shades, nurse him to drowsiness, lay him in his crib, give him his lovey, turn on white noise machine and walk out. He didn't like it at all at first and would cry on and off for an hour. I just checked on him but sometimes that would get him more worked up so I stopped. The naps were really short at first (less than 30 minutes). Now he goes down with no fussing/crying and will sleep for at least an hour.

No advice, but I just wanted to let you girls know there is an Upstate NY board. I don't remember seeing either of you over there, but there are some Buffalo girls!
