For X'Mas DH and I got each other a nice fridge. Not Sub Zero nice but still nice.
On Thursday the ice maker stopped working. On Friday we realized nothing was working when we opened the door and everything in it was warm. I call the store and they send someone out who says they need to come back on Monday with replacement parts which may or may not fix it. So we are supposed to go all weekend without a fridge??
DH calls the store and they send a small closeout fridge they had on the floor. We went grocery shopping for more food and filled up the fridge with ice and food before we went to bed. Opened the fridge door when Matty asked for milk and the fridge is still warm! The replacement fridge doesn't work either!
Round two of throwing out spoiled food. Now we have the tiny apartment fridge from DH's work (which had to be scrubbed out with bleach before I would pt food in it).
I called the store again and tell them to pick up the broken replacement fridge and let them know if they cannot fix our fridge on Monday I expect a new fridge on Tuesday.
Seriously, WTF!

OMG - if it were me I would kill somethiing or someone if that were the issue... But, really, an excellent suggestion.
The backup fridge is in a different spot in the kitchen so it is on another outlet. But when the fridge went out it did blow the breaker.
Kinda what I was thinking. how old is your house and what is the amp service. Also would be what all is plugged in and running to certain circuits. Sometimes with things that cycle on and off, they tend to blow the fuse/pop the breaker more so then things that stay steadily on. Do you know which outlet goes which each breaker? it maybe just a matter of switching some things around to lessen the load since as pp said, the new fridge is probably a higher voltage... though if you had gone with energy star, wouldn't that have made it less?
