Hi ladies,
I am currently on day 12 of my first Clomid cycle. I have read on here that most REs monitor during medicated cycles. I am curious as to why my RE hasn't suggested this? Does anyone know the actual standard of care regarding this? Please also keep in mind that it was me who suggested that my progesterone be checked and also me who suggested that I have CD3 bloodwork. She didn't recommend any of that. I'm starting to feel a bit uncomfortable and like it's me directing this show, not her. What are your thoughts? Has anyone else experienced this?
Thanks!

Re: Unmonitored cycle
Initially my OB/GYN did not monitor the cycles. He did order bloodwork during the first cycle but none after. It was not until the RE that I was really monitored. Maybe ask your RE how She is going to know if the Clomid has worked for you.

You are with a Reproductive Endocrinologist, right? Not just a regular OB?
That would make me very nervous. The reason for monitoring on Clomid is that the Clomid stimulates your ovaries. It's possible that they can be overstimulated which can be dangerous. And as PP said - how will they know how you respond to Clomid, which dosage to try next cycle, or even to try a different drug.
If you have options of other RE's, I would probably be looking and calling around. I'm obviously not a doctor but I would think that your RE would want to know all your hormone levels so that s/he knows your situation and how best to treat you.
Best of luck!
