What, am I 5 years old again?

I have decided that I am cutting myself off of fluids after 7pm every night now.  I got up a whopping 5 times last night to pee, and the pain in my hips is so excruciating I dread even the thought of getting out of bed.  One time I literally fell back into bed because it hurt so bad.

Has anyone tried this method of not waking up every hour to pee?  I know it worked with my siblings when they were little, I'm assuming it works for big people, too.

  • I don't know if this will work but you enver know. It may reduce the amount of times you get up to go but you'll prob still have to get up at least once. I wasn't getting up at all in the middle of the night now I get up once to go. But the hip pain...I feel you! I was the same way at 3 this morning it sucks! And when I got up to get ready for work I had to sit on the couch a little bit before I could do anything. I work at a bank and sit most of the time but this morning everytime I get up to wait on somebody at the window I am walking like an old lady and it hurts SOOO bad. I wish the hip pain would go away!!!!!

  • I seem to be way too thirsty in the middle of the night to do this.  I wish I could though because I usually end up waiting until DH makes his one nightly trip to the bathroom and then waiting until he gets up for work (a couple hours before I have to) to pee....so that he can help me get out of bed.  Pelvic pain sucks!

  • I tried cutting myself off from fluids to reduce the nightly bathroom trips, but I ended up with major headaches and I felt (more) awful the next morning.  This went on for about a week before I resigned myself to my fate.  Now, not only do I get up about 3-4 times a night, I also keep a cup by the bathroom sink and drink some water before I go back to bed.  This keeps me from feeling like there's no water left in my body when I wake up in the morning.

(This is along with the addition of a humidifer in the bedroom, by the way.)  <Sigh>
