We're going up for 3 days next weekend - any cool stuff to do that I shouldn't miss? We are trying to decide if we will like living there. Also any suggestions for low-key family friendly dining? We love good ethnic food (Asian, middle eastern, etc).

Re: NSAIFR: stuff to do in Milwaukee ?
check out this website... it's got tons of stuff to do. If you go on the right hand side you can pick the date and then click "see all" and you'll get pages and pages of stuff.

We like to hit the mexican restaurants on the south side of the city, very authentic, loud places where a screaming kid won't be noticed.

The Art Museum is beautiful, but we haven't gone yet with the kids. I think we will wait until they are a bit older. Definitely take a drive along the lake front.
As for food, where are you staying? There are a ton of great places all over the city, maybe I can suggest one close to your hotel. (if you are downtown the King & I has awesome Thai food!)
milwaukeemoms.com is also a site you can check out. It has lots of ideas for things to do with kids. The Betty Brinn Children's Muesum is a lot of fun and it's right down on the lakefront. I didn't catch the ages of your little ones, but the Pettit National Ice Center has open skating if that is something you would want to do. Milwaukee is alive in the summer too. We have SO many festivals and you will always have something to do. And tailgating here is second to none.
We know how to throw a great tailgate party. It really is quite affrodable to take a family to see a Brewer game.
Milwaukee has a ton of great restaurants. Foodspot.com is a place to look for ideas. We are famous for our Friday fish frys so if that is something you are interested in Lakefront Brewery is fun and my favorite place for fish is Brocach. Brewery tours are fun too and Lakefront has the best.
Sorry this is so scattered....I'm trying to do a few things at once here.
have fun! we are a small city with tons to offer.
