Well, I was mostly right with my BFN. Beta came back at 5.45 at 13dp5dt. So, a very early chemical and they are having me stop all meds. At least the cramping wasn't in my head.
This is my second early c/p. First was two years ago on our second month TTC.
Dr. will be calling me later and I would like to be prepared with questions. Any thoughts? We did transfer poor embryos so I think that was probably the issue, but with two c/p, I want to make sure we aren't missing anything.
I have had RPL testing and two things came back borderline: protein S & APAs. In addition, I tested positive for MTHFR, but homocystine (sp?) levels were normal, so no blood thinners prescribed. I will ask if he thinks we should add lovenox next time.
I don't have much time to put together a list of questions before he calls. If you can think of anything I should ask, please share.
TIA!

Oh no, I'm so sorry sweetie.
I really don't have any advice for you...after my c/p my RE just said it was likely "bad luck" but did agree to let me do a Thrombosis Profile..everything came back normal.

Hi Holly, I'm so sorry ((HUGS))
Are you on Folgard/additional folic acid for the MTHFR? I know they say if homocysteine is normal it's not a problem, but extra folic acid can never hurt. I also take baby aspirin which I think they're just letting me to do to humor me, but if you're not on it already you could ask about that. I don't know much else about protein S or APAs.
GL with the call. Let us know what the dr says.

Gosh, I am so sorry, sweetie! I don't have much advice. I did ask about beta 3 integrin at my wtf, but RE dismissed it and my research showed a lot of RE's feel the same way. I think maybe ask about egg/sperm quality issues and if a different protocol can give you better embryos.
(((hugs)))
(((hugs))) Holly. I'm so sorry....
I was also borderline protein s deficient....I think it's worth a 2nd look....I had really different results each time the test was done. I am not sure if it is something that can fluctuate or not but I would make them repeat it.
My T + P are with you. I hope you can get some answers. More (((hugs)))

Yes, I am on folgard and baby aspirin. Like you, I think they are just humoring me with the baby aspirin. Depending on what my RE says, I may call my hematologist (I see her for an unrelated condition) and get her thoughts too.
Even though you may not need the lovenox it wouldnt hurt to be on it right? When did they test you? My hemo had me on a high dose the second I stared stims and progesterone, he said estrogen and progesterone make your blood thicker, maybe you were tested without these in your system?
What was your lining? Would Viagra, vitamin e help?
Were you on the Viivelle paches? If not can you be next time?
Im assuming your going to use a different donor?
Im so pissed off for you. I hope they throw every med possible your way and you find a kickass donor.
I'm so sorry. ((HUGS))
Did they do anything for your MTHFR? My BFF had several early losses with MTHFR being her only issue. Her homocysteine levels were normal so they treated her with high doses of folic acid and other B vitamins and baby aspirin. This worked for her.
With borderline APA and protein S, I would ask about trying a blood thinner. My new RE recently told me that heparin works better than lovenox in women with APAs.
I'm sorry you are going through this. I hope you have a productive call.

I'm so sorry. I really hate this for you.
If you haven't had a hysteroscopy, I'd do that, as well as retesting your CBCs to see that all is good and maybe SCSA to see if there any any concerns?
I hope you get some answers.
I am on folgard & baby aspirin for the MTHFR. This was my first time on folgard. Thanks for the info on lovenox v. heparin.
CBCs done recently, but will ask about hysteroscopy and SCSA. Good idea.
