Little Gym vs. Gymboree Play and Learn...?

I'm trying to figure out which class to enroll DS in.  I'm intrigued by Little Gym, but I'm not sure how that compares to the Gymboree classes.

Thoughts??

Re: Little Gym vs. Gymboree Play and Learn...?

  • You can do an intro class for free at both places.  Little Gym is more active IMO, athletic actually.  As DD grows she would eventually be doing actual gymnastics there is we continued.  Gymboree was not.  I wanted her to have structured play and have a place, a fully padded place LOL, to be a rambunctious toddler.  We love it.  And so does she - she threw a $hitfit when class was over today according to my DH.

If I were you I'd do the free class at both and make the decision based on which one fits your LO and your goals best.

  • They both offer a free trial class - you should try each and decide which you guys like better!
  • I hated Gymboree. That clown creeped me out and maybe it was just our teacher, but everything seemed super over the top and cheesy. I get that kids like songs, but no need to act like a dufus constantly to get their attention. DS was even giving him the side eye like - mom are you sure about this guy and his clown?

I have heard Little Gym is totally different and much more atheltic/active, not storytelling and nursery rhymes. That was just my impression though. I am thinking of trying Little Gym next because that seems more like what I thought Gymboree would be.

  • We belong to TLG, and my little girl laughs the whole time.  They switch up the activities every few minutes, teach new skills each week, and do a great job learning all of the kids' names and making sure each child has a great time.  It was expensive to purchase the classes for the semester, but so far, we really feel it's worth it.

  • I recommend doing the free class at both to see which one you like best.  We do Little Gym and have been for over a year now.  My LO loves his class and has learn so much and made great little friends.
