Success after IF

I am so thankful that after almost 5 years of marriage, 3 kids, and A LOT of ups and downs

that I still get a text from my DH that just says "i love you"...He does that stuff all the time, randomly, and it really makes me know that he is just thinking about me at that moment, and loves me enough that he has to tell me right then.

I know I haven't shared much about what has been going on in our relationship, things have been seriously rocky, he works all the time, i am spread pretty thin a lot of times at home, we have talked counseling so many times...but who knows when we will ever find the time.

But things like these little texts remind me that we have love, we really do...thank God, dunno what I would do without that...whew

  • You know what, it is true.  The day to day can get you down, it is important to know the foundation is still there.

    Lots of love Momma!

that is EXACTLY it Heidi....the foundation is there..we truly love each other, and I'm one of those saps that believes that is forever. I mean, we have been through some SH!T times in our relationship, but I have never once thought I wanted to be without him...I have not wanted to be WITH him, hahaha but never wanted to be without him ;)

  • That is really sweet. DH and I have been together 10 years and he still does stuff like that. Sometimes all it takes is just little things to keep the fire alive.

  • That's so nice.  I know you've had some rough patches (so many of us have) but I totally get what your saying about how knowing you're both in love means you can work through them.

  • hugs!!  I'm so glad :)  Its good to have that "foundation" (perfect term heidi!).  A few cracks in the wall aren't a big deal as long as the foundation is solid!
  • We all go through rocky periods and times when we think we just can't get by like this.  I'm glad you got a reminder of the good stuff :)

I got an email this morning that said, and I quote, "I pi$$ in your cornflakes," which loosely interpreted means "I love you" in DH-speak.
