Apparently it's our motor - which is going to cost us about $600. He's working up quotes but he said that if we got the maintenance plan, it would still be about $600 but it would also include a tuneup, etc. I'm not sure what else the maintenance plan entails (how much we'll have to pay for it, etc) - but while he's outside - do any of you pay for a plan on it? Is it worth it?

Re: Quick! Maintenance plan on furnace?
This is way too late since you already made the decision, but we have a maintenance plan on our heating & air conditioning. It's $17/month ($204 per year) and includes quarterly tune-ups, free labor on service work, and a 20% discount on parts.
After our A/C went out this summer on literally the hottest day of the year, we felt it was worth it. Then again, seeing what you're paying for yours, I feel like we got a crazy good deal.
Oooh, LOL! That makes more sense!
