I had been on BCP forever and since I stopped taking them, my face has started looking horrible. I usually use a Neutrogena scrub and then some Clean & Clear zit zapper stuff, but it doesn't seem to be working anymore. Any recommendations?
I had a facial two weeks ago, and I asked the lady there what to use since my skin is very very dry, but I am having zits from hormones. She suggested Noxema exfoliator. She just said to make sure you are using something that will exfoliate the dry skin but also help with acne. Also, only put moisturize on the dry areas. IDK if it really is helping, but exfoliating with anything seems to help.
I've read that you aren't supposed to use a scrub every day (just weekly), so I use Cetaphil and Neutrogena Rapid Clear Treatment Pads daily and Persa-Gel (which it sounds like is what you're using) for spot treatments. Not sure if that helps any, but maybe using the scrub daily is keeping your pores open to allow bacteria in..?
See, I've been having dry skin too, so I'm sure that putting moisturizer on every morning isn't helping out too much. It's a Neutrogena moisturizer that's not supposed to clog your pores or anything, but maybe I need something else. Ok, so no more daily facial scrub. I guess maybe I could switch to a gentle cleanser? I have some pore refining facial wash, too, so maybe I'll switch it up a bit. I feel like a teenager all over again. This hormones stuff is for the birds!! haha
I only use a moisturizing scub, and I don't use it everyday, but I do use it several days a week. Most of my products are actually Lancome, but I haven't ever had acne until I got pregnant so I was totoally lost on what to do.
I use Philosophy Purity Made Simple and the microdelivery exfoliating wash. Both have been great for my sensitive skin. I used to use the Clean and Clear and Aveeno products but feel like my skin looks noticeably better using philosophy.

I have super sensitive skin that is dry during the winter. Clinique's face lotion is the only thing that doesn't make my face feel like it's on fire.

mark. Calming Face cleanser or Cetaphil
Aveeno Baby Soothing Relief Cream (I know it sounds weird, but it totally cleared up my breakouts and flaky skin)
