5 reasons why I am becoming a SAHM

1) After a steep 9 years career they told me they might take my topic away from me because I am going on maternity leave (I will be checking with HR for legal issues because of that)

2) My DH had to take my daugther from my arms for a ride because I had to take a 8pm conference call (I have at least 1 every single evening this week) and it broke my heart when I still heard her screaming for me downstairs

3) When I was pregant with DD1 I worked with 2 co-workers on their projects (brainstorming phase) - they still have not delivered, my DD1 is 26 months old! They both got promoted last year. WTF?

4) I am bored out of my mind and sick of pulling everyone else's weight. I want to create something beautiful - not just a report that gets put in a draw.

5) 9 months of salary as severence pay if I decide to talke care of my baby after mat leave. and 1 year bonus. I will take that, that will feed us for a year.

I am going to start my own business. Pictures to come in the next few days!!!

I got a year of severance pay when I left my high paying/ very high stress job. It was awesome. But when it stopped I cried like a baby!! Not really but man it was awesome having that money coming in every month, plus they were paying my cobra.

The down side to this was I did free lance type stuff during that year( I am a financial advisor) and by the time I got back out there and looked for a job seriously the economy had tanked and I was lucky to get a call back making 1/10th of what I made before.

Now I will be a SAHM and my H will support me. I actually don't like it and would rather be going back to work but there are different reasons for that that mostly have to do with how H and I view our money. He came in to the marriage with a huge trust fund and me with a tiny investment and for some reason this makes him feel like everything is "his" money.
