When does the baby move?

Hi ladies, So we are expecting our first baby and we couldn't be more thrilled. I am 12 weeks today, and this may be a question. But when do you feel the baby inside of you?? I mean right now, I just feel like I have gained weight and my boobs are HUGE. But I am curious when many of you first felt your baby move. Any feedback would be great. Thanks!

I think I started feeling something around 14 weeks. It was very sporadic and only once every few days...

I felt her a few times around 13-14 weeks, then nothing for a few months, then started feeling her again around 18-20 weeks. But I had an anterior placenta - makes it much harder to feel kicks.

Anywhere from 16-22ish weeks is typical. It all depends on the size/shape of your uterus, placement of the placenta, etc.

I felt DS at 16 weeks exactly. DH was able to feel him from the outside at 20w1d. Felt like tiny little muscle twitches -- I never got the tickly butterfly feeling that many people feel at first.

At 16 weeks with my DS I felt I kind of bubbly, fluttery feeling unlike anything I every felt before. It was lovely but wasn't too long until he was kicking the crap out of me lol! I am looking forward to feeling it again Smile

I felt DD around 21 weeks.

I felt my first little flutter/ twinge around 17.5 weeks. One of my DDs had an anterior placenta so it seemed like awhile longer before I felt them both. I didn't feel distinct kicks until the early-mid 20s weeks along.

With #1, I felt her around the 17th week, with #2 I felt fluttering when I was 14wks and then more consistently around the 16th week.

Everyone is different. It depends on the mother's weight, height, genetics, whether it's the mother's first, second, third, etc. pregnancy, and the baby's position in the uterus. I felt quickening at 15 weeks and the kicking gradually got stronger until I saw her foot poke out and run across my stomach (outwardly visible kicks, in other words) at 22 weeks.

I first felt J at 22 weeks. I also had an anterior placenta. I'm sure I felt him before that, but I really had no clue what I was feeling for.

I started feeling DS around 14 weeks. This time around it's obviously too soon yet.

WIth my 1st I felt him around 24 wks ... I am 10 wks along with my 2nd and haven't felt a thing yet!!! I can't wait ... its SO awesome when you can feel them!!

I felt DD around 19w, but I've heard with #2 it sometimes happens sooner because you know what to look for.

Ditto the others, though - when you feel your baby totally depends on your uterus, body, fat, position of baby, etc. not to mention if you know what to look for.

I felt DD at 15 weeks for the first time. It was when I was lying down and it didn't happen again until the next week I think. I've had a few times I thought I've felt this one already, but it's just too early. It's got to be gas or something. I'm really looking forward to feeling movement again though. One of the fun parts of being pregnant!
