Babies: 9 - 12 Months

I'm sitting in my driveway

In the car while Dylan naps. Lol we went to the Children's Museum and as soon as we got in the car he passed out! I know if I get him out he will not go back to sleep so here I am. I actually sorta enjoy it quite time where I can play on my phone and listen to music while he naps. Does anyone else do this?

  • Juliana will fall asleep in the car too but usually wakes up when we pull into the driveway. If not, I try to just transfer her to the crib and hope she goes back to sleep. There have been a few times though that I really wished I had my Kindle with me!

  • A great advantage of having a tiny baby is that he still fits in his infant seat and probably will for a few more months.  It's freakin' heavy with him in it but if he goes to sleep I schlep it in the house and let him stay there.  I actually time return from errands with his nap time because he goes to sleep easily in the car.

  • I have done it. If he had a really cruddy nap day and he falls asleep in the car on our way home I usually let him sleep a little longer. I like the little time I have with him at night for him to be happy. If I wake him up too soon or he doesn't nap in the car somedays he can be a real bear.

As a baby Dylan would never stay asleep once we stopped so I switched him around 4 months but he now will stay asleep so I kick back in the car lol.

  • DD falls asleep in the car all the time, and I'd sit and wait with her, except a) she takes 2-hour naps, and b) she wakes up the second the ignition is turned off.  Thankfully she goes right back down when we get in the house!

  • I do this all the time. I was never able to move DS from the car to the house and have him stay sleeping. Sometimes he wakes up as soon as I pull in the driveway, but if I go to a park or something he will stay sleeping. I keep a book in the car because he falls asleep in there a lot. I like bumping from my phone too.

  • I'm actually doing it right now. We live on a 2nd floor apartment and I have groceries to take in; there's no way I'll get the diaper bag, groceries, and a sleeping baby upstairs. When he wakes up I'll put him on my back in a carrier so I can do stuff.

  • All the time. I call them parking lot naps. We take one every week between breakfast with my mom and church. I kinda like it. :)

  • Yes, we do it too, especially when I feel particularly stressed we will go for rides. I even took a nap with her once too - in my driveway, I reclined my seat so I could see her. It was great.

    THIS.

I just risk it. Sometimes I can DD in the house and she continues to nap. Sometimes not so much.

  • More times that I'd care to admit! Last week I went grocery shopping at a store pretty far from our house. I knew DS would fall asleep as it was close to naptime so I bough myself a cup of hot soup so I could eat while I was sitting LOL.

  •  I recently discovered if I take a book and go park on the cliffs and read while Lo naps, he takes a much longer nap. I think it's the sound of the ocean that keeps him sleeping. I get to read too, which is something I missed doing.
    Effing crazy people.
