can't tell if my sling is the right size

I got a sling from seven slings. I measured like it said to, and went with the shoulder to hip measurement. Got the size 3 - S. On the size guide I fit into that size based on my prepregancy measurements. I tried it on, with my big belly, so of course the hip part doesn't come down as much as I think it is supposed to it. It's riding up. I tried to put a stuffed animal in it and it just seems like the pouch itself isn't big enough to actually hold a baby. But is that because my belly is in the way or because the sling is too small for me? I got the size insurance so I have 14 days to exchange the size, but it's hard to tell if what I have is right or not. would love some advice. TIA!

Re: can't tell if my sling is the right size

  • (In case my answer doesn't help :P the ladies of the AP board are experts when it comes to carriers) I found Seven Slings to be really small. I had to reorder bigger. It might help to estimate where it would fall (between the belly button and hip bone) by measuring it against you back instead, that way your belly won't be in the way. BTW, I ended up having to get TWO sizes bigger than I originally thought. Keep in mind that after the baby, your boobs will get bigger too and that will have to be taken into account for the length of the sling. HTH
