I cannot believe the decisions I have to make. My membranes are fully ruptured. There is no measurable amniotic fluid and my placenta is growing outside my uterus. So
I am probably looking at a hysterectomy whenever I do deliver. The MFM said I have a 90% chance of losing my uterus. For the baby, at 22 weeks which I won't be until Friday, there is a less than 5% chance of just survival. If I can avoid labor, an infection or a hemorrhage that could kill me until 24 weeks, I can get steroids, but there is still no real chance for him since there is no amniotic fluid helping to develop his lungs and limbs. The safest thing for my life is to take the baby out in my uterus. I cannot believe this is it and I'm so sad Betsy & Carly will probably never have another sibling. How do I explain this to a 3 yo that tells me to be careful because there's a baby in my belly? So so sad. But we are not making any decisions tonight. Thank you so much for all your thoughts and prayers. They mean so much. I will be on my phone until I leave the hospital so I'm sorry for any typos and no paragraphs.
