Lovely, I know. I'm thinking a few weeks ago there must have been a patch of spit up on the carpet that I didn't see when I vacuumed (we keep a big, washable quilt on the floor, since the babies still spit up, but they can crawl now....). Anyways, the vacuum has smelled horrible, like sour milk, when I use it. I took out all the filters and hand-washed them, and I cleaned all of the washable parts with soapy water. They no longer smell at all. But, the vacuum still smells when it runs (not NEARLY as bad, but the odor is still there). Anything I can do? I guess we could use part of our tax refund for a vacuum, but we've got it earmarked for other house projects.... TIA!

That's a good idea -- worth a try, anyway! Thanks!
I was going to say vacuum baking soda as well. I hope it works!

or they have that sprinkle carpet fresh stuff that stinks like old lady perfume. that NEVER leaves my vac, and I have not used it in months. lol.
ga-ross.
I've used the Febreeze stuff once in the past and thought the same thing. Even that would be preferable to sour milk (unless it mixes with the smell of sour milk -- ewwwww).
