Babies: 6 - 9 Months

bf'ing is making me fat.

I've read so many posts lately that women have weight just falling off them from bf'ing. Yea, not me.  I gained a ton when I was pregnant (50lbs) and lost 35 almost right away- I think part of that was the bf'ing but I still have 10lbs to go and I swear, I'm hungry ALL the time.  Anyone else?

  • Ditto. Except I'm more of an extreme.

I have exclusively breastfed for 7 months, and I'm pretty sure I'm ABOVE my '41 week, baby still inside, about to pop' pregnancy weight. How embarrassing.  Imma fatty.

Poor us! I'm very much over it. I couldn't button my jeans today.

  • Lurking.
But I eat.so.much! I thought maybe my appetite was taking a nose dive for the worst, but it must just be BF'ing?
I guess it's the incentive of it *glares at box of donuts*
  • Same here, with those exact numbers almost.  I just barely fit into my pre-preggo clothes.  Still tight, but wearable.

  • Me too. I gained 55 lbs while pg. I've been hovering at 15 lbs above my pre-pg weight forever. For a while I was hovering at 25 lbs above, and then somehow those 10 lbs seemed to be gone. I'm hoping that will happen again. I don't get enough sleep to exercise (as in last night was a good night... DD woke up 3x). It's a struggle to pump enough for her when I'm at work, so I'm not going to cut calories and potentially mess with my supply. I'm just kind of stuck.

  • I am in the same boat. I gained 16 pounds with pregnancy. I lost all of that and then another 13 more between birth and 3-4 month pp. Since then I have gained back 8 of the 13 pounds. DD is extreamly needy and most days does not take a nap so it is very hard to get regular exersize and going outside is out of the question right now, its far to cold to take her out. Then comes to food- If I try to cut calories my supply dips way low. I am trying to find a happy point. I have tried WW and that isnt happening. So I think next I am going to try counting calories and try to stay somewhere between 1,500 and 1,800 calories a day. If my supply has issues I will add 100 more calories and see if that helps if not I will add more until I find my happy spot.

I need to do something. I would like to lose some more weight before we start offically TTC #2 in August.

  • I gained 57.  I've lost maybe half of it.  I don't know, because the scale and I aren't on speaking terms.  I felt like I was steadily losing weight until the holidays - maybe I had too many servings of pie - but my clothes feel like they're getting tighter again instead of looser.  I hate it.

  • i am ALWAYS starving and i try to eat healthy but its hard to really fill up on veggies and lean protein so i end up eating carbs, mostly muffins lol.

i am only like 4 lbs above pp weight but stuck and i work out 4-5 days a week. so frustrating!

  • Me too! I was doing good for awhile, but I'm so hungry all the time (and I probably have a few too many treats). I was within 10lbs of my pre-preg weight, but now I am up 15lbs from my prepreg weight, grr...DD has been sleeping AWFUL because of her cold and teething so I am just too exhausted to work out and I am afraid of messing with my supply. Once warmer weather gets here and I realize I need to wear a bathing suit, then I will get my butt in gear!

  • I gained 40, lost 15, then gained 10 back and got stuck.  I started a food log in January and found I wasn't eating near enough!  Now that I'm consistently over 2000 cals a day I've lost 7 lbs in the last 4 weeks.
