What was your first beta#?

So at 10dp5dt my first beta yesterday was 248. I know it's way too early to tell, but DH is thinking it sounds high and could indicate twins. I have no clue if this is in fact true.

What was your first beta count? How many days past transfer were you? And are you pg with a singleton or twins?

It was 240, 9 days past transfer. My second beta was in the 800s. I'm having twins.

First and most importantly, congrats! Betas really aren't an indicator of multiples and yours is good but doesn't seem extraordinarily high. Definitely check out betabase (google it and it will come out) for singleton and multiple beta averages.

For reference (these are both singletons):

My first beta with my m/c: 331 at 15dpo

My first beta with this pg: 23.7 at 10dp5dt**Obviously my beta was super low but I ended up giving birth to a healthy baby girl last week.

My m/c cycle was a singleton and my beta 13dp5dt was 193.

Low 300s. I forget how many dpt. 14ish? It indicated twins on betabase.

My RE does betas early.

We're having a singleton. I think most people will tell you though that betas are not indicative of multiples.

I think I'd say that while a high beta doesn't = multiples, it does make you wonder... So maybe weak correlation, but not direct.

Mine are in my siggy. My first one was 18 dpo and the second one was 21 dpo. Mine were pretty high too but I'm pg with a single. I thought it might have been twins too because of the high number and betabase.

I wanted to add that a friend of mine had her betas on the same day as me, our ERs were the same day, hers were 5 more than mine for the first two betas and she is having twins. That is why I say that betas aren't really indicative of twins because most people would look at both of our betas as low and yet she is almost 19 weeks with twins and I am having a singleton.

With this pregnancy, my first beta at 9dp5dt was 291. I'm having twins.

With my first pregnancy, my beta at what's equivalent to 14dpo (I did IUI), my first beta was 280. I have 5 year old twins.

Congrats on such a great 1st beta #. Yes it's too early to tell, but my guess is it's only a singleton based on only my numbers.

At 9dp5dt it was 365 (i think) and 11dp5dt it was 901...I am having twins Smile

It is def. not a perfect science but I do believe higher betas can indicate a multiple pregnancy. My RE was more convinced I was having more than one based on my high progesterone level than my HcG. When I went it for my first u/s he reviewed all my numbers and he told us before he even started, I am pretty sure there is going to be more than one in there.

My 1st beta @ 11dp3dt was 104 (which was avg. for one per betabase.info). I had a singleton. FWIW, betas are not diagnostic of how many babies you have, though there is usually a correlation, it just varies by person. GL!
