Babies: 6 - 9 Months

If you own a Dodge Caravan, come in!

So, I'm probably going to be getting a mini-van.  Never really wanted one, but it's logical for us since we're having another baby and when he/she is born I still want DS to be rear-facing and we want it to get decent gas mileage etc. and be able to fit a lot of crap in the back.

Anyways...Do you love yours, hate it?   Does yours have the bucket seats in the middle or bench?   And if you have the bucket seats does it work well with carseats?   My H wants to get one with the bucket seats in the middle and I'm just wondering how well that will work out with the carseats.

Any feedback would be great!   I know they are known for transmission problems on certain one's so we're already considering that.

 TIA!

  • We have one and love it for while the kids are small.  At 3 & 5, they can open the doors and climb in by themselves.  The stow and go is priceless for extra clothes, daipers, etc.  We have 2 bench seats - but we have integrated car seats in that bench (the middle row).  So, Taylor is in that - it goes to 48 in and 50 lbs.  Dylan will be in that as well when she hits 20 lbs (which most likely will not be until after a year).  I have heard from a friend that if you have kids RF in the middle captains chairs, you can't get by them.  She has her infant twins in the 3rd row because of this.  Our next vehicle will be something with all wheel drive though.  The van's traction leaves much to be desired since it is snowy here 5 months out of the year.

Overall, we are very happy with our van.  GL!
