Yesterdays appointment, Doppler

I had my first 'official' OB appointment. It was mostly a lot of talking and family medical history but then....the doppler. It took her almost a minute to find that little heartbeat. I was starting to panic when she realized my bladder was full and pushing my ute up higher. That is when we heard that amazing little sound.   130bpm!!!

Then when asking my Dr how much weight I should gain, she out right said I guess you will probably gain 40lbs. WHAT? I mean, maybe I will but wow! This is the first time she has ever met me. I only gained 27 with DD 5 years ago so why the guess of 40? Idk!

She also talked to me about having the Quad Screen done. It is a simple blood test to check for Downs, Tris 18 and Neural Tube. I dont want to but she recommends it since I am 37.

    What a strange thing for her to guess - my doctor gave me her recommended guidelines, but certainly not a prediction!  She said that I should gain 25-35 (I gained 35 with DS, and am aiming to be close to that).
