I was scheduled to start Cervidil last night and then Pitocin this morning. They called last night and told me to come in and then 10 minutes later realized they were down one nurse and I couldn't come in. I called at 630 this morning and they said "we aren't admitting any inductions yet, we have to discharge some pts and more women in active labor came in last night." BOO...don't get me wrong, I am glad that I didn't go when they were short staffed, but still it is making me so emotional I can barely stand it. They told me they would call when they have room and I don't want to call and get on their nerves, but I am fearful that they will forget about me.
Re: L & D is like a waiting on a standby flight!
Gotta love the "hurry up and wait" concept. LOL
What hospital are you headed to? I am in Chesapeake also, and will be delivered at CGH.
