SUCCESS!
He was so excited about finally getting to ride the bus, he got himself up early this morning, and was dressed, ready and waiting way before time! And he made it to school and home with no problems at all.
And I must say, it was very nice to not have to get the baby up and dressed at 6:30 to bring him to school at 7. Yay for busses!
Re: 1st time on the school bus...
Yay! Buses are great! I was always jealous of my friends that got to ride the school bus. I lived a 2 min walk from the school so I never rode it in elementary school. Then in hs when its not fun/cool to ride it I had to. I walked to the elementary school and rode it 5 mins to the hs. Same thing on the way home.
L will ride the bus this year (he rode it to preschool last year and the year before but it came to our house) This bus only comes to the end of our street which is a dead end (culdasac) sp? that has sidewalks on both sides. For the first few weeks we are going to walk L to the bus stop but then we are going to try just watching him walk down and get on the bus. There is one lady who stands down there until the bus leaves and Im going to talk to her about making sure L gets on the bus. Im sure she wont mind and I do know her personally so its not like Im trusting a stranger. Just until L is used to it and then we will only watch him walk down and the lady wont have to really "watch out" for him.
He is really excited about riding the "big" bus. The preschool bus is a short bus. This year is going to be tricky..I have 2 buses to put 3 kids on.
There is about a 30 min time difference in bus run times thank God. They do get home almost at the same time though.
