Annual exam during 2ww

So I'm sorry if this is semi-repeating myself but I need some opinions. My annual is scheduled for Monday but I'm in the 2ww. I kind of want to go b/c I'm due and I've been having weird cervix pains since the ectopic and I just want some reassurance. I'm not exactly sure what I'm worried about, but I am concerned about messing around down there. Would you cancel? Go and tell them I'm in the 2ww? Call the nurse? I feel like such a ninny for being so freaked about this but yeah. So WWTTCAL Do?

I think I would tell them that you are in the 2WW, but I would think that they would still want to see you. At my OB, when you are pg and go in for you inital visit, they usually give you a pap becasue many women skip it when they are PG. So I think if you tell them and they are still ok with it, you should be ok. I hope this helps.

I'd call and talk to the office and tell them exactly what you asked. If you are having pains you really should get them checked out, but also be honest about where you are in the cycle. I'd be concerned about the timing too, but they should hopefully understand. GL!

I was pg for my annual (of course I didn't know) and told them there was a possibility. It didn't seem to be a big deal, although I was like 3 DPO. I would just let them know where you are at. Praying for your BFP!

I would tell them you are in your 2ww but I bet it wont change things. I can understand why you would be worried but honestly I don't think they will do it if they are even a bit concerned

You make it very difficult to stalk you during your 2ww!!!

I scheduled mine for then. I'd avoid the tail end of your cycle so you don't chance spotting on the day your appointment is, like I did. Otherwise, it should be fine. Mine always ask me when my LMP was anyways, so that would be a good opportunity to throw in that you're post-O. You can always call and ask them if they care about the timing. Pretty sure I've heard of people getting a pap at their preg confirmation though, so I don't think it will be a big deal.

I had a pap done at 3dpo a couple years back and the nurse made it seem like it was no biggie. If it would make you feel more comfortable, let them know where you are in your cycle.

If you are concerned, you should call and ask for sure, but I had a pap at my first appt with my OB at 8 weeks and she said it was a normal part of that appointment. It does sound like you should probably be seen so that you can make sure everything is okay with your cervix.

Go in and have your appointment. I was pg with Nicholas during my annual in 2009, I didn't know it yet as I was in the 2ww. They do an internal at 12 weeks, so I would tell them you are TTC and ask them to do the swabs they would normally run at 12 wks. Then you won't need one if you get pg w/o 6 months.

Have you asked about the pains?

Yes, still go in and just tell them that you may be pg. No biggie. I was pg at my annual and had no idea, and we didn't test for it because I really wasn't thinking I was. Although 2 days later I found out from blood work I had in the ER. Funny funny!!! Good luck girlie!!!

I think it's totally ok to be freaked out. I would totally question the same thing. I was freaked out to take my antibiotics during my 2ww. Tell them where you are and how you are freaked out. Ask your doctor about it and ask for reasurrance. You deserve it. They are your doctor's office - they should be there for you!

Thanks for all the rational thoughts, they're scarce for me lately! I have to call to confirm tomorrow so maybe I'll just mention it to the nurse but I might just let it go, I should have it done anyways.

I've had the pains since the ectopic, they seem worse since the SIS last week though. I think the catheter made my cervix angry. Hopefully its not going to be spiteful and allow another implantation in it. I am neurotically afraid of that happening again. I am also wondering if this cycle will wind up being ridiculously short like last cycle, in which case af could potentially arrive on Monday. Ech.

Thanks for asking this. I just scheduled my annual exam for next Wednesday and I didn't even think about the fact that I would be in my 2ww (just waiting for CH on FF right now). I think I will call my dr and mention it just to make sure they still want me to come in. Thanks and good luck with your appointment!
