Do you test with DH or alone?

Re: Do you test with DH or alone?

  • I usually don't test unless AF is late and my temps are still up, so i don't test very often. When i do, i test alone. DH doesn't doesn't really care about being there at the time of testing.

  • Together - he doesn't stand in the bathroom with me while I POAS but when I am finished, flushed and hands washed I open the door we wait the few minutes and go back in together to look.
  • I have always tested with DH in the past. I like the comfort of his arms around me when we go to look at the test and when it's been negative, his arms around me have been all that's held me together sometimes. I don't think I'll test without him just for that reason.
  • At first I thought I wanted to test with DH, but I quickly realized I was going to take way too many tests to have him be present for each and every one. Also, I don't want him to know how many tests I actually take! :)

  • Alone... I have a shy bladder!!!!  We just started TTC and he doesn't really want to know details yet... He can usually tell when I have tested because I always get in a really bad mood when I get a BFN!! LOL!!! I also want to be able to surprise him in a fun way, eventually!!!!

  • I try to test alone but DH wants to be there when I get a negative or a positive. Kinda sweet, really.

  • I will test alone.  DH and I tested together once and it was BFN and he was crushed.  I haven't tested again since but next time I feel the need it will be alone.  DH knows I will tell him when I get a BFP!

  • I test alone but tell him later. I'm still trying to think of a cute idea for a BFP though. It will probably be super nerdy/corny.
  • I havent needed to test yet but when I do, it will be alone. I would rather find out for myself first and then surprise my SO. Otherwise I would feel like I am getting his hopes up everytime I go in there to test and it comes out negative.

This is exactly how I feel. :)

  • I've only tested 3 or 4 times, but I always test alone. DH actually doesn't like if I test too often, so I don't usually tell him if I do. Plus it will make it that much better if I can surprise him when I do get a +HPT!

  • I take all my tests with DH.  He is going through this too and wants to be as involved as he can.  Since it isn't his body he misses out on a lot.  He was with me for the 1st +, and we got to be excited together, it was wonderful:)

  • I test alone - DH is gone by the time I get up in the AM and I'm not dedicated enough to get up with him at 4am :-)

Also we've been TTC for over a year now and I'm so sick of the BFN that I don't want to bring him down as well.  I also have a really cute and creative way that I've already got planned to tell him when I finally do get that BFP.  DH is a huge rail fan so I want to buy the baby train engineer hats - one in blue and one in pink - and wrap them up to give him.  I know when its finally our turn, baby will wear one of those home from the hospital :-)
