Diaper rash? Food allergy?

I started giving Natalie butternut squash two nights ago. First night was fine but last night, after she pooped, we noticed her butt was red. It wasn't raised bumps or anything, but she doesn't really have a problem with diaper rash so I thought maybe it's the food? Or could it be just the act of (sorry, TMI) pooping after eating a new food? It seems to have gone away today. I just don't know if I should give her the squash again. She loved it when I fed it to her. Neither DH nor I have any food allergies so I wasn't thinking she would have a problem. Just not sure what this is.

    This happens for us when I feed her chicken. (which she is allergic to)

    I'd give it one more night to see if it occurrs again with the squash. If it does, then curb the squash.

    I will say that pumpkin, squash etc makes Katen poo more and if she gets runny poo's it will cause her a non-allergic rash. Other than allergies and the pumpkin poo's though we never have diaper rash problems either so I can see where you'd easily be able to track it to the food.

    Oddly enough every once in a while Bryn will have a poop that makes her very red and it hurts her. It may be a random thing or maybe the poop sat there for a minute too long, ya know?

    teething can cause a rash, too.

    Lucy's tush can get red after a poop, I'd give it another try with the squash and see if her digestive system does a bit better the second time around!

    eli has a red tush right now, i'm pretty sure it's from all the pooping he's been doing since we started solids, and the fact that he's teething.
