dumb ? - how to you clean the highchair tray

So this is my dumb question of the day. I usually clean the highchair tray immediately after we're done eating so nothing sticky or messy is left behind. Last night, we had pasta/sauce for dinner and of course DS got it everywhere. Unfortunately I left it for a few hours and by the time I went back to rinse it off, the stupid tray has a big orange pasta stain on it now. Boo. How do you ladies clean something like that? I'm thinking bleach might do the trick but is there something a little less harsh?

Thanks girls!

  • If it is plastic I use a bleach solution like Chlorox clean-up and spray and leave a few minutes then wipe away.

  • I just wash it like normal and leave it-- it fades away over time haha I am such a slacker mom :-)

  • I usually just wash it in the sink, but every once in a while I do a "deep clean" in the dishwasher.  It takes up pretty much the whole dishwasher, but it fits!
  • I am the ultimate slacker mom.  We never washed ours by hand (well very rarely anyways) and always just shoved it into the dishwasher.  :D

  • We use the dishwasher for tough stains like you're describing, but I have never been completely able to get rid of the pasta sauce stains.  I'm not willing to work hard enough at it.  I guess I kind of figure it's going to get stained again anyway, so as long as it is CLEAN, I don't really care if it's a dull orange.

  • You could always try the cascade plastic booster that is made for those stains but in the dishwasher.
