::whine:: I don't wanna

My office is closed today so I decided that I would work on thank yous and then the nursery. Can I skip the thank yous and just work on the nursery? I hate writing them. I want to get them all mailed by the end of the week, but it's not going to happen if I don't start writing them. I guess I'll have to reward myself...write 5 eat a cupcake, write 5 work on the room. Ugh :-D

  • I hate writing thank yous too.  It's not even hard, but it's just one of those things you want to put off.  I did mine in batches.  Set a goal, take a break...I think rewards are a good idea :)

  • stupid person who invented thank yous. I have no problems writing them for the people who couldn't make it to the shower, but still sent something. I just hate writing them for people who I thanked in person.

  • I did mine over 2 days. It was a lot but I'm so glad they're done! Rewards and breaks are a good way to get through it.
  • taht sounds like a plan. I know when I write thank yous I tendto do it while I am watching a show that I taped. makes it go by faster and I'm still getting something done.

  • Mine are staring me down right now too. Ugh I am excited to have a snow day with DH, but I really don't want to do these darned thank yous. Its not that I am not grateful, because I am, its just the formula of writing it and the time it takes. Can't I just thank people I see in person, in person and mail thank yous to the people I don't see often (no is the correct answer Sad)
  • Ugh I hate writing thank yous.  I've literally written over a hundred in the past year, between housewarming, wedding, and baby showers.  My absolute least favorite is writing thank yous for joint gifts--like to my grandparents, 2 aunts, and 2 cousins, who all chipped in for the car seat.  5 thank you notes, mailed to 5 different addresses, for 1 gift!

  • I've been putting mine off, too.  I have about 2/3 of them done, I just have to address them and put stamps on.  I've just been dreading doing the rest of them, although I would prefer to get them done before the baby is born, so I should just suck it up and do it.
