Rookie Baby Food Question

I just attempted my first puree of sweet potatoes.  I added a little bit of water to it.  I've read that people "pour" the food into ice cube trays to freeze.  My question - should it be the consistency to pour or is that just an expression?  I had to scoop it in.  I don't know if I didn't puree enough or if I have to add more water.  I just felt like I was adding too much.

Sorry - I'm just a little confused.

  • I'd give it a try the way it is.  Mine was always a bit thick, but S liked her foods thicker.  You can always thin it out if needed.

  • I have to spoon it into the trays. You can always thin with breastmilk or formula later.

  • Ditto both previous posters.  It's fine like that as long as your DC will take it and if not just thin it when you serve it.
