We took DS to the pedi yesterday and he has RSV. My poor baby is so sick. He has a terrible sounding cough but thankfully his lungs are still clear. But the pedi warned me that we will have to watch him closely and recheck his lungs. Poor thing ran a fever last night/early this morning. We were up with him @ 1am for a couple hours. He coughs & coughs and then gets choked on the phlegm & can't breathe for a few seconds, it is so so scary. I broke down yesterday & just started bawling, he's such a sweet baby and doesn't understand why he feels so bad. He's been sick over a week and the pedi said we could have another couple weeks ahead of us.
I fully realize that this isn't the end of the world but it's still hard seeing him so sick. We are doing lots of steamy bathroom sessions, tons of vicks and running the warm mist vaporizer at night. I hate that he can't even eat. He's so little and I hate to see him lose weight. Just praying it doesn't go to his lungs.
Re: RSV :(
Because we're fancy like that.
Oh, I'm so sorry. Poor little guy and poor mama. I hope he feels better soon. Sick little ones are no fun.
are you serious? crud. I agree, having sick kids sucks. Hang in there momma!
After 7 years trying to concieve, 3 failed IUIs and 2 failed IVFs, my third IVF was a success!
My Christmas baby turned into a turkey bird! Dillon Richard was born at 34 weeks, 5 days on November 28, 2009 after 10 weeks on bedrest for preeclampsia.

Thanks ladies. I'm sad today, I can't help it. He is just not a fussy baby but all he has done for a week is scream. It breaks my heart.
They did not check his oxygen saturation levels but I'm guessing that's bc his lungs were ok? Is this something I should ask about? We go back friday for his 4 month shots (I feel like sh!t that he is going to be having shot pain & all that goes with it on top of this awful RSV).

Poor thing! I so can relate-- Liam is just starting to get over RSV (although his cough has picked up again). I feel for you though b/c I cant imagine the baby being so little and dealing with it. Liam felt crappy and was very whiny, but at least he is a little older. I will be thinking about you and I hope Noah is feeling better really soon!!
Hugs!
I would demand they be checked. DS had RSV back in Feb when he was 9 months. After he had it for three days, they checked his sat levels and he was at 97. Two days later, he sounded HORRIBLE and so I took him back in and they were at 84. Anything below 90 is hospitalization for some oxygen assistance so their little lungs don't have to work so hard and they can recover. In our experience, things changed quickly so my advice would definitely be to go in every day if he is getting worse or every other day to just see a nurse to check the levels real quick for your own peace of mind. Most babies recover fine on their own, though. (((HUGS))) It's horrible to watch them be sick and just feel so helpless.
Oh no -- poor little guy (and poor you)! I hope he feels better soon!
Poor Noah! I will be keeping my fingers crossed it doesn't go into his lungs, Jax was such a mess when he had bronchitis and a little crap in his lungs last month. I am glad he is going back on Friday and yes they should be checking his O2. They check Jax with his nutty breathing every time we go to make sure there isn't something we are missing.
Daycare is SO exhausting!
