I'm achy and super emotional today. (sort of a vent...long)

I'll start by saying that I know I did too much this weekend (Fri-Sun) and I didn't drink enough water or eat enough. So there's that...

My belly has been feeling stretched and painful for several days. I thought maybe it was constipation or gas pains but everything seems to be going okay in that department. Then today I noticed that when I pee, my lower stomach seems to tense or cramp up. It just doesn't feel right. Are these just good old pregnancy symptoms (RLP, growing/stretching pains) or should I be concerned?

I put a call into the nurse about an hour ago but still haven't heard back. I'm just hoping I don't have a bladder infection or something worse.

Also, is anyone having trouble letting their stomach "go"? I've always been one to hold in my stomach when walking, sitting, etc. and since being pregnant, I'm realizing that it really really hurts. I think it's a habit I need to break and maybe it's contributing to the soreness.

As for my emotional moment of the day: I was listening to the radio on the way to work and heard about the mother who shot her teenage children. Those stories will always make me sad, but I started crying inconsolably when I heard that. And now I just can't turn off the tears today.

  • I absolutely had the hardest time breaking my natural inclination to hold my stomach in. FWIW, my OB didn't tell me it was bad for the baby, but that rather I should continue as long as I felt comfortable to keep my stomach muscles engaged.

I'm not aware of the situation you shared, but toddler deaths by parents have hit me like a ton of bricks lately. We had one where the baby's spinal cord had been severed and they did nothing for 2 days until he finally died. It was the mom's boyfriend.

  • I have been feeling achy and stretchy feelings in my stomach/abdomen today too. Iam hoping it is normal RLP as well.

How interesting. It makes me feel better because my SIL got on my case about it today, saying I was putting pressure on the baby.

I just can't comprehend these parents hurting/killing their children. There are no words for how wrong such a thing is.

  • I heard the same story this morning, it was just terrible. I really upset me as well.

I have been having similar pains, I think it has to do with the stretching and growing. I hope you feel better.

  • I had the same pains after going pee, last week they started and hurt pretty bad and I was going to the bathroom a lot (even more than I had been). I thought for sure I had a bladder infection so I went to the dr, apparently I am fine and it is just more round ligament pain. It was a completely new and different RLP than I had been having. Hope this helps!
