I love my name, and always have (Brooke). It's always suited me, no matter my age. DH has a top 10, Biblical name (Daniel), and we agree that we'll go with something more like my name in terms of popularity for our kids - uncommon, yet not so out there that people go, "say what?"
Tess- loved it! My mother was a Linda & HATED having such a common name. She told us often that it was why she didn't give us common names. The only time I didn't like my name was a brief few weeks in 2nd grade- a few mean boys used to call me 'testicle' or say my middle name should be 'tickle.' Yeah. Not cool.
That said- I didn't wish for a different name, since kids with common names got teased too. And I still love my name.
I wasn't a fan of my name growing up, but I like it now. I went to a french school growing up, and the way they would pronounce my name in french made me sound like a dweeb.. that's probably why I hated it so much.
I have a very common name, but I also have a name that is near impossible to come up with a nickname for...so I vowed that my kids' names will all have nickname options!

I've always loved my (double) name. It's a good mix of common, popular names but because I go by both, not many people have my name. I did have one friend in elementary school with my name and have met a few others, too. I am named after my two grandmothers so that makes it special.
I will probably go with a double name for a girl, too.

My FN is Heidi, so it's not really common or uncommon...I'd say it's right in between. There was only one other Heidi in my entire school and it just so happened that we were in the same grade! At one point in high school, we were both dating guys with the same last name and I never realized it until we were out of school and she and her BF got married! Me and my ex-BF decided we'd rather be friends (and are one of those couples that still actually are good friends today), so luckily we avoided having the same FN and LN lol.
I get really irritated when people misspell or mispronounce my name. My FIL is from the south and he pronounces it HAD-IE rather than HI-DEE... drives me nuts! But I'm nice and don't say anything about it b/c I know it's just his accent. But seriously I don't understand those who misspell it. IT'S THE NAME OF A BOOK FOR CRYING OUT LOUD lol. I get Heide, Haidi, and just about all you can imagine.
I'm the opposite. I wanted a regular name. Try to find Charlsie in a name dictionary...oh wait...it's not there!
Everyone pronounces it wrong. And everyone remembers me because of my name and red hair. People come up to me and start small talk all the time thinking I know them and I don't! Sucks major donkey balls!
I know a girl named Charlsie! She's awesome and I've always loved her name!

My name is Heather too and I have always loved it. As popular as it was the year I was born, I only knew a handful of Heather's in school. It wasn't very common, surprisingly.
My name is Michaela. I liked having an unusual name. I used to never see anyone with my name, and now it's more popular but often spelled weird. I want my kids to have unique-ish names but ones that people know how to pronounce.

My first name is Lynn and I really like my name. It is a well known name, but hardly anyone has it as a first name. It's the best of both worlds. The only negative is that people tell me I have a middle name as a first name.
I've always liked my name (Bethany). It's another one that's not so common that there were tons of girls with my name while still being common enough that no one thinks it's weird or has trouble pronouncing it. However, I have been called "Brittany" and "Stephanie" more times that I can count. That's not really mispronounciation so much as illiteracy or "mis-hearing," though.
As for the people who could never find personalized things with their names on them - neither could I, ever, including the time my family visited Bethany Beach. There were always things that said "Beth" (a nickname I've never gone by), but never Bethany. I think that type of product only prints the top 30-50 names and ignores everyone else.
I am Ok with my name. I think it is boring but not horrible.
There was no other Christy in my class, but there were a few spelled Kristi. I always hated the question if is was short for Christine, nope- plain Christy.
My little sisters are Casey and Courtney and I just love those names.

I hated my name (Talia--pronounced Towel-ee-uh) growing up because no one could pronounce it, and I was shy so I hated correcting them. Now, I don't love it and don't hate it. I guess it's grown on me over the years.
I definitely won't pass it down to my children. I think that the names I like are more classic, but still unique.
