Pregnant after a Loss

Feeling movement on the outside?

At what point did you start feeling movement on the outside? There are seriously posts on other boards about feeling kicks on the outside at 14 weeks. Is that even possible?

Re: Feeling movement on the outside?

  • Just this week I started to feel/see LO move from the outside, but I have an anterior placenta so it might be a little harder to see/feel LO (although  DH told me he could feel LO move about a month ago). I don't know if people can even feel LO move at 14 weeks! That seems a little too early.

  • 18-20 weeks for me.  I don't see how it's possible that early (14 weeks) because LO is so small.

  • I felt outside kicks around 17 weeks and actually starting seeing my stomach move around 18-19 weeks.

I think my baby may be a small Chuck Norris though.

  • With my DD, I didn't feel anything until 5th month or so...about 20 weeks.. my placenta was in the front with her...

The other day, I had a CVS done.. and during that test and that night.. this week.. I've felt FLUTTERS!!!  My placenta is developing in the back.. it is so wild bc he is so small (like a piece of fruit), but it is definitely not gas.

So.. YEP, it is possible to feel kicks.  OH.. just re-read what you wrote.. I don't feel it on the outside much.. really on the inside.

  • I saw that post too and thought it was odd. I'm 18w 2d today and sometimes feel something, but i think it's a muscle spasm. Maybe not though, based on the answers above and the face that I keep measuring large (I was an 11lb baby, and DH is 6'3").

This sometimes I feel something but then think it was a spasm or my pulse. ::sigh:::

Glad I'm not the only one.  I can't figure out if its movement or not...and that's on the inside!

  • I still can't tell what I'm feeling:(

I definitely hear LO moving around when I listen to the lovely HB in the mornings. LO is all over the place these days.

Hang in there. Last week (beginning of week 16) I started panicking because I hadn't felt a single thing. Then at 16w4d BAM...tons of rolling around in there that could not be anything but baby. Felt it again a little Thursday and Friday. Now I am freaking out because I haven't really felt it since Friday. Ugh....

  • I felt the baby from the inside at 17 weeks, and DH was able to feel a kick from the outside at 18 weeks... It took a lot of patience, though!  He had to just hold his hand there for a while, because it takes a pretty big kick to be able to feel it at that point...

And, I didn't really trust that I was feeling them from the outside before he felt it... Since I was feeling it from the inside, I thought that maybe my mind was just playing tricks on me... LOL.
