Cloth Diapering

Really, really stupid question

Does only poop stain?

DD only pees in her diaper, so I was just wondering if I had to worry about any staining.

  • Where does she poop?

I don't think you need to worry about pee stains.

  • On the toilet.  :-)

And thanks!  I really have no idea what to expect...just wanted to be informed.

  • I've had some pee stains recently in her overnight diapers (bamboo/hemp). Very frustrating. :(

  • Whoa!  not really on topic but how did you get her to poop in the toilet?  I can't get my 2 1/2 yr old to go potty!

    You're awesome!

  • Well, she used to poop a little in her diaper and then we'd put her on the changing table where she'd poop some more.  We figured that we should try putting her on the toilet, so now we put her on there after every meal/nursing session/nap and other times we hear her make potty sounds.  I read up on EC at the tribalbaby website.

We started a little after 6 months and have had maybe 4 accidents where she was caught off guard, I guess.  I think those were after a day or so when her bowel was off.

She pees on the potty about 50% of the time, but it's much more difficult to catch those.  Usually I'll know that she's peeing another 25% of the time and just miss getting her on the potty, and the other 25% of the time she surprises us.  All in all, changing wet diapes is a breeze - I'm just glad we don't have to deal with poop!

I also hope that PLing is going to be easier since she'll already have the poop-toilet association.

I have a friend who started EC'ing her DD around 4 months and most of her poops were in the toilet too.  My son is almost 4 months and I am more amazed than ever at the momas who do EC successfully!

  • She pooped the very first time I held her over the toilet!

I guess pooping is what she's good at.  Some babies sleep well, Em poops well, lol!
