Feeling The Baby Move?

So today I am 19 weeks! I'm a little nervous though as a lot of you are posting about feeling your LO's move, and I'm not sure I've felt anything yet. There have been a few times here and there that I think I may have felt the baby (such as a pulse in my stomach), but I also have had the same feeling pre-pregnancy. Is this something I should be concerned about, or do I just need to be patient?

Re: Feeling The Baby Move?

  • Just be patient...I didn't feel him move until I was 21 weeks.  Little flutters...within a week it was full on kicks.  Often we don;t realize the movements.  I described them as a big eye twitch...could easily be mistaken for gas as well.

  • with my first i was definitely 20 weeks before i felt anything like movement.  this time around it was last week when i could be sure i was feeling something.  i agree with pp that you will have to be patient and wait for baby...

  • I started feeling kicks pretty early, around 17 weeks, but I skipped the "flutters" stage entirely.  Maybe I'm just not as in tune with my body as most moms!  But I wouldn't worry at all if you're 19 weeks and not feeling definite movement; so many moms don't feel it before 20-something weeks.

  • Be patient. I felt it the day of my 20 week appointment (hours after I got home). At my appointments they would always ask me if I had felt any movement yet and I always said I didn't know. The night I felt him move there was NO question about what I was feeling! I'm sure when you do feel it, there'll be no doubt about it! Enjoy!

  • Like PPs said, I would worry about it!

I started feeling kicks (more like pokes) between 17 and 18 weeks.  But I don't feel them every day.  You'll get'em!  Just wait it out a couple more weeks:)

  • Just be patient, it's easier to identify movement after the fact (or it was for me).  I've only recently really started to feel strong movement.  Plus I've heard it takes longer for us first timers to feel or recognize movement.

  • I started feeling flutters around 18 weeks and started feeling her on a regular basis about 19 weeks, its  different for everyone.
  • Could you have an anterior placenta?  I had one with my first and hardly felt any movement my entire pregnancy.
