skipping a birthday party

My best friend is having a birthday party for her one year old daughter.  Several of my friends from high school are going to be there with their kids and I just can't take it.  I'm using my sister as an excuse, because she is in town and I don't get to see her that often.

Am I awful for skipping the party?  I should be super supportive, she even named her little girl after me.  Urrgh.  I hate IF!!

    You should not feel bad, you have to do what is best for you.

    new to this board......but have to say that make sure you won't regret missing the birthday party in the long run.  it is hard now for all of us to see our friends/family with children.  but year one is a big birthday for her mommy.  i am sure she'll be supportive no matter what you decide.
