I'm making my own prefolds for the newborn stage. I figure that she'll only be in them for a little while before she moves into her one sizes and I have extra material so why not? I was just wondering what the dimensions were that you used for newborn prefolds? My doula came over last night and said the ones I had made seemed really big. Thanks in advance!

Re: Help me if you've ever made a diaper!
Cloth-eez? Newborn orange edge(12.5"x13.75" when new) 11.5" x 12" when fully shrunk in white. Fits newborn to about 6 weeks or 2 months, or fits about 5-10 pounds, 4-8-4 ply. Orange edges. Made in Pakistan, 100% "Indian" cotton.
So it depends on whether what you're making them out of will quilt up or shrink. Somewhere around 12" square would probably be best for the covers.

Nyki, what fabric are you using to make your prefolds? I was going to try it this weekend and have a bunch of tshirts I was going to use and some terry for the soaker part, but I really have no idea what I'm doing. I'm just trying to avoid buying any fabric right now.
BTW, how's your tooth? I still haven't done anything about mine yet. Far too lazy (or busy).
Hey! I used flannel (I had a ton) and I'm using cut up towels for the middle insert. That's what the instructions called for on the site I used. https://webpages.charter.net/rhamley/diapers/diapertext1.htm
I'll send you a PM right now Robbysbride and fill you in on things because I want an update on you too!
